Band T-Shirts Show Support

By Benedict Perez

Rock music has always been called many names since the very first time that it was released and heard. Kids say it is cool. Daddies say that it is something that they love. Mothers and grandmothers say it is breaking eardrums. Other people who are into classical music say that rock is all shouting and hoarse voices. Well, whatever you say and whatever you think of rock the very reason for its existence encouraged rock related merchandise as well. Those band t-shirts, belts with big buckles and designs of skulls and the like are the in and cool things and those who love rock music think that their show of support will never be complete without these.

You could be a great fan of Nirvana, or the Rolling Stones. Or you just prefer listening to the music of David cook and Green Day. There are so many rock star these days, but who would have thought that Chuck Berry would also give it a hit and have that success?

Berry just meant this to be an alternative to rhythm and blues since everyone seems to be attracted to black music, even the whites. For a point in time, this music has broken the barriers and made possible the creation of understanding among races and social status. The young people see this type of music as an avenue for them to vent out their rebellion, being nonconformists.

Since the year 1967, the music world has reached to its Golden Age. During this period, the most hit rock bands then were Rolling Stones, Simon, Garfunkel and Byrds. Can you help thinking about it that during their time, all people who watched them when they perform also wear the band t-shirts while they were screaming and cheering for their favorite band? If it happened that you were not really into rock music, then you couldn't feel the beat at all.

Even after 55 years, still rock music continues to live on. There are always those who are not fans of this type of music while there are those who simply could not get by a day without a smashing song. It is true that this has paved a way for races, blacks, whites, Hispanics and Asians to better understand each other and unite. The evolution of the music is also one of the biggest reasons why generation after generation it still continues to live on. Perhaps Berry was not able to foresee that this type of music will make such a huge impact. On his time, it is already odd enough that the whites patronize the music of the blacks but look at how far it has reached now.

More than just an expression of teenage angst and rebellion, this music has spoken the languages of people, bringing them together into deeper understanding of each other. Perhaps, music in general has that magic touch.

It's either you like rock music or not, you can't avoid that everywhere in any time you could still see people who are loyal and real fan wearing those band t-shirts. This only means one thing; that as long as there are still people who are conquering the music world, then more fans will be gathered and continue to be fans of them.
